Boarding for Small Pets and Other Animals in Morgantown, WV
Mountaineer Pet Care Center has experience boarding a variety of pets including ferrets, hamsters, mice, rabbits and birds.
Because these pets have different housing and care needs than dogs and cats, owners must provide the appropriate cage or enclosure, litter, food, bedding, and supplies for the stay.
Mountaineer Pet Care Center does not currently accept reptiles.
A Practical Boarding Option for Small Pets
Small pet boarding should be planned in advance. These pets often have specific housing, feeding, temperature, bedding, and comfort needs, so the best first step is to contact Mountaineer Pet Care Center before booking.
This allows the team to confirm whether the pet can be safely and comfortably accommodated.

What Owners Need to Provide
For small pets and other animals, owners should plan to provide:
- Cage or enclosure
- Litter, if needed
- Food
- Bedding
- Care supplies
- Medication, if needed
- Any special handling or feeding details
Mountaineer Pet Care Center does not have dedicated housing facilities for these pets, so owner-provided supplies are required.
Care Instructions at Check-In
At check-in, Mountaineer Pet Care Center collects the pet’s care details and enters them into the system. This information can then be printed on kennel cards for staff reference.
This helps the team keep feeding, medication, bedding, and care instructions clear during the pet’s stay.
Placement Based on Your Pet’s Needs
Placement is determined based on the pet’s needs and the facility’s occupancy at the time of stay. The goal is to place each small pet in an appropriate area where staff can monitor care throughout the day.
Because placement depends on the pet and current facility use, owners should call before booking.
Medication Support
Medication administration may be available for small pets and other animals. Please discuss medication needs with Mountaineer Pet Care Center before booking.
