Dog Daycare
Safe, Staff-Monitored Dog Daycare in Morgantown, WV
Dog daycare at Mountaineer Pet Care Center gives dogs a place to spend the day with exercise, attention, and staff-monitored activity while their owners are at work, away from home, or need daytime care.
Dogs are housed in comfortable indoor/outdoor runs and enjoy time in securely fenced play yards. Throughout the day, dogs have opportunities for activity, staff interaction, and appropriate play based on their size, temperament, age, play style, and comfort level.
A Day Built Around Exercise, Attention, and Appropriate Activity
Daycare is not just about filling time. The goal is to give dogs activity, attention, and an appropriate care setup based on each dog’s needs.
Depending on the dog’s personality and comfort level, daycare may include:
- Time in indoor/outdoor runs
- Secure outdoor yard time
- Staff interaction
- Small group play with compatible dogs
- Individual activity for dogs that are not suited for group play
- Safe interaction through enclosure barriers when appropriate
- Rest periods during the day

Small Groups Based on Size and Temperament
Mountaineer Pet Care Center forms daycare groups based on factors such as size, temperament, age, play style, and behavior.
Not every dog belongs in the same type of group. Some dogs enjoy social play. Others do better with individual activity, quieter handling, or a more controlled environment.
Flexible Care for Dogs Who Are Not a Fit for Group Play
Because Mountaineer Pet Care Center has seven individual yards, the team can separate dogs when needed and provide activity in smaller, more appropriate setups.
Some timid dogs, dog-reactive dogs, or dogs that are not appropriate for traditional group daycare may still be accommodated when MPCC can provide an appropriate individual care setup. Acceptance depends on the dog’s behavior, care needs, and safety considerations.
Dogs that show destructive behavior may require special arrangements. Clients may be responsible for damage caused by their pet.
For safety reasons, dogs that are aggressive toward people may not be accepted.
Staff-Monitored Activity Throughout the Day
Daycare activity is staff-monitored throughout the day. Groups are intentionally kept small, and staff use separation, individual yard space, and rotation to help maintain a safer environment.
Dogs also receive rest periods as groups rotate through the main yard and individual play areas.
Starting Dog Daycare
To start daycare, owners should call Mountaineer Pet Care Center to create a pet profile and provide proof of required vaccinations.

Daycare Feeding, Treats, and Medications
Daycare dogs are not fed as part of the standard daycare day.
Owners may bring food, treats, or medication when needed. Medication administration may include an additional charge.
