Meet The Owner

Dorothy

Dorothy Traister

I came to West Virginia University on a softball scholarship. After graduating, I partnered with a local veterinarian to open the area’s first comprehensive pet care facility, offering veterinary services, boarding, and professional grooming all in one location. That was in 1986.

I have always had a passion for pets and a commitment to providing the highest quality care. Throughout the past 40 years, I have continuously attended educational seminars and training programs to stay current on emerging diseases, treatment options, animal care practices, and the latest grooming techniques.

As demand for our services grew, I expanded the business three times to better serve pet owners and their companions. In 1991, I introduced the area’s first mobile grooming van, bringing professional grooming services directly to clients. In 1996, I expanded the boarding facility to accommodate growing demand. Then, in 2006, I completed another major expansion, creating the area’s first luxury pet spa, boarding, and daycare facility.

Today, after more than four decades in the pet care industry, I remain dedicated to providing exceptional care, comfort, and safety for pets while continuing to embrace innovations that enhance their health and well-being.
